Vienna in 3 days

Start at the Hofburg Palace complex: tour the Imperial Apartments, Sisi Museum, and the Silver Collection. Walk a short distance to the Spanish Riding School courtyard to admire the historic arena (check for morning training or ticket availability).

Stroll along the Ringstrasse to the Vienna State Opera and then visit the Kunsthistorisches Museum and Naturhistorisches Museum on Maria-Theresien-Platz. Pause for coffee and cake at Café Central nearby to rest and soak in a historic atmosphere.

Walk to Stephansplatz to see St. Stephen’s Cathedral and climb the tower or visit the catacombs if time allows. Dine in the Graben/Kärntner Straße area, then consider an evening concert at the Vienna State Opera or a classical recital at Musikverein (book ahead).

Travel to Schönbrunn Palace in the Hietzing district; tour the palace interiors and stroll the Great Parterre and Gloriette for panoramic views. If interested, visit the Schönbrunn Zoo, one of the oldest zoos in the world, located on the palace grounds.

Return toward the city center and stop at the MuseumsQuartier if you missed anything or relax in Stadtpark to see the Johann Strauss monument. Alternatively, explore the Hundertwasserhaus for an architectural contrast and take photos of its colorful façade.

Spend the evening at the Prater: ride the historic Giant Ferris Wheel (Wiener Riesenrad) for sunset views and enjoy casual dining at one of the amusement park’s restaurants. For a final music-filled night, check schedules for live performances at small venues in the Leopoldstadt area or a late concert at the Konzerthaus.
